Obituary of Marjorie M. Patterson

Marjorie M. Patterson (Hair), 82, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away following an extended illness on Tuesday, May 25, 2016 at her home under the care of hospice. Born in Wildwood to the late Howard Miller and Jenny Terezzi Miller, she was the wife Lewis D. Patterson and the late Robert “Jerry” Hair, Sr. Marjorie was raised in Wildwood and had been a South Jersey resident all of her life. She had spent time living in Cumberland, Salem and Cape May Counties. Prior to her retirement, Marjorie had worked in the Environmental Services Department for Harrah’s Casino in Atlantic City for over 20 years. She had also been employed at Elmer Manufacturing in Elmer as a seamstress for over 15 years. Marjorie had become a Competent Communicator through Toastmasters International with her son, Mark. She had been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Vineland since 1958. She had served as chorus director and held several teaching positions at the church. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing with her husband, visiting the beach, going to flea markets, playing games on the computer and sewing outfits for Barbie dolls. She also enjoyed visiting amusement parks where she loved to ride the swings. She is survived by; her husband, Lewis D. Patterson of Upper Deerfield Twp.; three sons; Jerry Hair, Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Tuckerton, Michael Hair of Cape May Courthouse and Mark Hair and his wife Linda of Upper Deerfield Twp.; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her first husband, Robert “Jerry” Hair, Sr.; a daughter, Janay’ Caudill; two sisters, Delores Gates and Charlotte “Joy” Miller and a brother, Howard Miller. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 110 Highland Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360 on Saturday, May 28th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the services.
