Obituary of Grace Thomas

Grace Thomas, 88, of Clayton died at her home on Sunday, October 16, 2016 under the care of Hospice. Born in Coffee County, Alabama to the late John R. Hooks and Louisa Ford Hooks, she was the wife of the late Joseph Thomas. Grace had been a resident of Clayton since 2004 and before that she had lived in Bridgeton and Alabama. Prior to her retirement, Grace had worked at several area farms including Level Acre Farm in Cedarville. She was a member of Second Pilgrim Baptist Church in Cedarville. She is survived by; two sons, Joseph Thomas of Clayton and Troy Davis of Boyington Beach, FL; 4 daughters; Dorothy Collins of Bridgeton, Barbara Hooks of Clayton, Joyce Hooks of Bridgeton and Mary Carrington of Boyington Beach, FL; a sister, Eloise Cannon of Newfield; a brother, Robert James Hooks of Alabama; 30 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Joseph, she is preceded in death by; a son, James Wadley; a daughter, Annie Lee Coleman and two sisters, Louise Hooks and Lucille Cole. Funeral services will be held at Crusaders for Christ Church, 33 Reeves Rd., Bridgeton on Saturday, October 22nd at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp.
