Obituary of Marjorie E. Burkhart

Marjorie E. Burkhart, 80, of Hopewell Township died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at home under the care of Hospice. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Lee Smith and Nellie Dzjoba Smith and the wife of the late Robert E. Burkhart. She had been a Hopewell Township resident for 11 years and prior to that had resided in Bridgeton. Before her retirement, Marjorie had been employed as a Senior Payroll Clerk with Cumberland County Government. She had also previously worked with the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Bridgeton as a Switchboard Operator. Surviving are her daughter, Stephanie Hayes of Hopewell Township; her son, Brian Burkhart of Richland; a brother, George Smith of Upper Deerfield Township and a sister, Ann of South Carolina along with 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert and four sisters, Vera, Julia, Betty and Jennie. Private services were held at the convenience of the family.
