As I type this, with tears streaming down my face, I can't help but smile and think that she and Mom are having tea and oat bran muffins in heaven.
I am deeply saddened and shocked to read of her passing. Elaine Davis' name was frequently spoken in the Barnett house and although they were Mother's who had children that went to school together ... before that they were classmates and friends! That friendship transcended many years and was shown via there continuous support of each other. From tea parties, to working the voting polls, to any other function that pertained to Mary A. Barnett ... "Elaine Davis" was in attendance when invited.
I told her in November to "Save the Date" for Mom's annual tea party in April because I was instructed to keep hosting it. I guess she and Mom will be having tea in heaven together as we have it down here.
Hold fast to your memories for they will comfort your heart, dry your tears and bring a smile to your face in the oddest and worse times. Hold fast to your memories for they will keep her with you forever.
Dawn, as you travel this path know that I am travelling with you and if you need a "pit stop" it is but a call away ... tea for two ... just like they use to have with an addition of Mrs. Mary Lou (Henderson).
