Obituary of Charles F. Mulherin
Charles Francis Mulherin, 82, of Newport New Jersey, joined God, his parents George and Irene, and his brother George in Heaven. He peacefully passed away at Cooper Hospital on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017.
Charles was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 24, 1934. A childhood resident of Philadelphia, Charles graduated from North Catholic High School in 1952. Shortly after High School he joined the US Navy during the Korean War. Charles was proud of his service to his country and occasionally spoke of serving as an adjunct Father aboard ship. Honorably discharged, Charles repaired and serviced office equipment for General Electric, parlayed his inspection skills learned in the US Navy to a Loss Control Specialist position for INA and Cigna, and after a brief retirement, was a Township Construction Inspector for the State of Maryland in Wicomico County. He enjoyed watching football and baseball games on TV (E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!), studying, talking and debating history, building model warships, but most of all being with his family, especially his grandkids.
Charles will be remembered as a loving and protective husband, a sentimental father who teared up at his sons’ weddings, and an anxious grandfather waiting to hold his grandchildren. He was a man who enjoyed going to church, sharing history with his grandkids, and was always willing to help out when asked, or told to do so by his wife.
Charles is survived by his wife, Norma L. Mulherin. His sister Carol Thomas (husband John), Sister in-law Doris Mulherin and his children Michael (Wife Shavaughn Pantalione), Kevin (Wife Heather Greene), David (Wife Jennifer Morgan), Paul, and Susan White. Grandchildren Piper, Liam, Hadyn, Amelia, Nolan, and Alex.

Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
