Obituary of Melba M. Parker

            Melba Parker, 94, of Downe Twp. passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland. 

            The wife of the late Ernest F. Parker, she was born in Bakersville, NC and was the daughter of the late Jeff Wilson and Ida Green Wilson.  She had been a Downe Twp. resident for 44 years and had lived in Millville prior to that. 

            Melba attended Dividing Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, canning and being with her family.  She is survived by her eight children, Judy Franklin of Bridgeton, Brenda Franklin of Commercial Twp., Joe Parker of TX, Sandra Parker of Downe Twp., Josh Parker of FL, Heather Boswell-Parker of Elmer, Brian Parker of Millville and Ashley Parker-Franklin of Commercial Twp.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son, Matt Parker, a brother, Sam and two sisters, Mildred and Inez.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main  Street, Cedarville on Thursday, July 13th at 11 AM.  Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services.  Interment will take place at Dividing Creek Baptist Cemetery.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
