Obituary of Annie Mae McCoy Green
Annie Mae McCoy Green (known to many as Mom Dukes) was the daughter of the late Anderson and Willie Mae Jenkins departed her life on July 21, 2017 due to lung cancer. Born June 27, 1950 along with her late identical twin, Fannie Mae Stubbs, Annie flourished in life as a mother to her children and a friend to all that knew her.
Annie attended schooling until her junior year where she enjoyed being a part of the track team and cheerleading squad. She diligently worked with Rosenhayn Farming and Packing Services as head line attendant and supervised at the Vineland Developmental Center for several years. Annie also was awarded several times for her beautiful gardening, holiday decorations and community participation.
She was a loving and caring person. It didn't matter who you were she would feed you , clothe you and let you lay your head down if you needed a place to stay. In reference to feeding people (Cooking was one of her spiritual gifts) individuals of all shapes, sizes and nationalities had the pleasure of enjoying her cooking. She always cooked as though she was feeding an army. She would greet you with “Are you hungry? Wash your hands and help yourself.”
She leaves to cherish her memory; three children, Yolanda Thompson of Bridgeton, JoAnn Atkins and her husband, Keith of Bridgeton and Shuntik McCoy and his wife, Karen of Millville; two sisters, Mary Lee Grant of CT and Minnie Brown of Bridgeton; a brother, Clarence Jenkins of Millville and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Besides her husband, Alfred, she was preceded in death by; a daughter, Tiwanda Ann McCoy; a granddaughter, Ceara J. Annie McCoy; four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Fruit of the Spirit Ministries, 305 South Ave., Bridgeton on Saturday, August 5th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
