Obituary of Eugene M. Wright

Eugene M. Wright, age 70, of Fairfield Township passed away quietly at his home on Sunday, May 13, 2012 following a brief illness. Born on October 17, 1941 in Bridgeton to the late Elmer J. Wright and Laura Moore Wright, he was the husband of the late Freda Thomas Wright and was a lifetime Bridgeton area resident. A 1960 Graduate of Bridgeton High School, he was a veteran and had served with the United States Army as a specialty cook. Before his retirement in 2005, Eugene had been employed with Airwork Corp. in Millville for 27 years as a parts department clerk and had also previously been employed with the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton and Chrysler Corp. in Newark, DE for many years. He had served as a volunteer fireman with the Gouldtown Fire Company and was an avid race car fan enjoying going to the Dover, DE and Atco, NJ tracks. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, E. Eric Wright of Philadelphia, PA and Vincent (Beth) M. Wright of Greenwich; two daughters, Terri L. Wright and Kimberly A. Wright both of Bridgeton; two sisters, Viola L. Wright and Jeannette (Felton) I. Lingo both of Bridgeton; one brother, Ronald J. Wright of Millville; five brothers in law, Nelson (Barbra) Thomas, Sr. of Royal Oak, MD, Alonzo (Gloria) Thomas of Bridgeton, George (Mona) Collins of Millville, Lester (Kathy) Collins of Pilesgrove and Nelson (Rosita) Thomas, Jr. of Buffalo, NY; two sisters in law, Leslie (Garfield) Pierce of Millville and Bertha P. Wright of Bridgeton, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Elmer Wright. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Saturday, May 19th at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Gouldtown Memorial Park in Fairfield Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services.
