Obituary of Carl J. Mantooth

Carl J. Mantooth, 82, of Salem died on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Christiana Hospital in DE.

            Born in Newport, TN to the later Virgil Mantooth and Wilma Ina Justus Mantooth, he was the husband of Jessie L. Dover Mantooth. Carl had lived in Salem since 1956 and prior to that he had been a resident of TN.

            Before his retirement, he had been employed by Anchor Hocking Glass Co, in Salem. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during a peacetime.

            Besides his wife, Jessie, he is survived by; three children, William Mantooth of Salem, Karen Sue Peterson of Folkston, GA and Edna K. Dare of Quinton; three sisters, Gerri, Shirley and Jeannie; a brother, Ray; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Cleman and a sister, Janice.

            Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
