Obituary of Howard D. Henigin

Howard D. “Johnny” Henigin, 74, of Fairfield Twp. died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at his home following five years of declining health.

            Born in Fairchance, PA to the late Leonard Henigin and Cora Rankin Henigin, he was the husband of the late Delores Vanverth Henigin and companion of Diane Dickson. Howard had moved to Bridgeton in 1961 and in the late 1960's moved to Fairton where he resided for the rest of his life.

            In the late 1960's Howard purchased Johnny's Exxon Station in Fairfield Twp. where he was owner and operator for over 40 years. He had also been previously employed at Salem Pipe and Iron in Bridgeton and West Company in Millville. Howard was known to extend a helping hand to many at his service station. In his free time, he loved to visit the casinos in Atlantic City.

            He is survived by; his companion, Diane Dickson of Fairton; three brothers, Charles Henigin of Hopewell Twp., George Henigin of Port Marion, PA and Fred Henigin of West Virginia; three sisters, Dolores Jane Voithofer of Uniontown, PA, Rita Miller of Upper Deerfield Twp, and Frances King of West Virginia; two grandchildren, Beth Estrada (Jake) of FL and Linda Henigin; three great-grandchildren, Partrick William, Marissa and Jake, Jr. and two daughters-in-law, Patti Rhoads and Dottie Sabatini. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Dolores Henigin; two sons, Howard Henigin, Jr. and William Henigin; a great-grandson, Cole Maxwell; two brothers, Leonard Henigin, Jr and Walter Henigin and a sister, Florence Henigin.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, November 11th at 1:30 PM. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the services.
