Obituary of James Beachaump
James Beachaump, 84, of Pittsgrove Twp., formerly of Port Norris died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland following an extended illness.
Born in Marion Station, MD of to the late Noah Beachaump and Ethel Turpin Beachaump, he was the husband of the late Della Mae Morris Beachaump. In 1935, James moved to NJ where he was a resident of Port Norris for most of his life. He had also briefly lived in Millville.
James was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1954 to 1960. Prior to his retirement, he had worked at Snow's Cannery in Cape May for many years. James was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris. In his free time, he enjoyed driving friends around, chatting with family and friends and serving as the score keeper for the Port Norris Oyster Baseball League.
He is survived by; seven children, Evangeline Coursey, Edward Morris (Patricia), Milton Butts, Margaret Spaulding, Gloria Morris, Ethel Morris and Diane Morris; two special grandsons, Roger and Barry; a sister, Attrew Gross; three grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. Besides his wife, Della Beachamup, he was preceded in death by; two brothers, Linwood Beachamp and Noah T. Beachaump and three sisters, Hattie Beachamp, Catherine Johnson and Nelia Smith.
Funeral services will be held at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 2353 Ogden Ave, Port Norris on Wednesday, November 15th at 11 AM. Interment will be held at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
