Obituary of Kenneth J. West

Kenneth J. West, 69, of Fairfield Township passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home with his family. 

            Born in the town of Iaeger, West Virginia he was the son of the late Ozie West and Katherine Lee West and the husband of Diane Dickinson West.  He had resided in Fairfield Township for the past 44 years and prior to that in West Virginia. 

            He had previously been employed with the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for 13 years and after leaving Owens worked with the Frazer Construction Company for 10 years.  A country musician at heart, he had performed with the Strings of Gospel music group for 10 years.  Ken enjoyed his family and friends, fishing, boating and four wheeling in the mountains.

            In addition to his wife, Diane, he is survived by five children, Kenneth J. West, Jr. of Millville, Jamie West of Upper Deerfield Twp., Keith West of Fairfield Twp., Christine Hendrix of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Debbie Passarella of Upper Deerfield Twp., 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, 8 brothers and one sister.  He was predeceased by one sister.

            Funeral services will be held at the Maranatha Baptist Church, 1524 Bridgeton-Millville Pike, Millville on Saturday, December 16th at 11 AM.  Friends will be received at the church on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.  Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Ken’s memory be made to Maranatha Baptist Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
