Obituary of Madora V. Schmidt

Madora “Dora” V. Schmidt, 82, of Pittsgrove Twp. passed away at her home on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

            Born in Mauricetown to the late Allen Sharp and Della Gaskill Sharp, she was the wife of Alfred C. Schmidt, Jr. Dora was a resident of Pittsgrove Twp. since 1979 and prior to that she had lived in Upper Deerfield Twp.

            Prior to her retirement, she had worked at United Jersey Bank in the Carll's Corner Branch. Before that, Dora had been employed by Kerr Glass Co. and Foster Forbes Glass Co. for many years. She was a member of Rosenhayn United Methodist Church. Dora was described by her family as a loving and devoted mother. In her free time, she enjoyed car trips.

            She is survived by; her husband, Alfred C. Schmidt, Jr. of Pittsgrove Twp., five children, Barbara Pastirko of Carmel, Douglas Schmidt of Deerfield Twp., Alfred C. Schmidt, III of SC, Robert Schmidt of NJ and Suzanne Giampietro; two brothers, Robert Sharp of Millville and Allen Sharp of W.Va; a sister, Betsy Smith of Hopewell Twp.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; a brother, Rev. Linwood Sharp and a sister, Shirley Sharp.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, January 12^th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
