Obituary of Forrest Dixon, Jr.
Forrest Dixon, Jr. of Vineland died on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland following an extended illness.
Born in Bridgeton to Charlie Mae Williams Glass and the late Forrest Dixon, Sr, he was the longtime companion of Patricia Coles. Forrest was a Vineland area resident most of his life.
Prior to his retirement, Forrest had worked for Molinelli Trucking in Vineland for 18 years and several other trucking companies in the area including National Freight. He had also worked at Prudential Insurance in the Mail Room, the former Holiday Inn in Vineland as a cook and at the Vineland Developmental Center in the Dietary Department. In his free time, Forrest enjoyed listening to music and surfing the internet. He had also played guitar, bass and sang background vocals in his music group “Destiny” in which he recorded the album “Dawn of a New Day”.
He is survived by; his mother, Charlie Mae Glass of Bridgeton; his companion, his brother, Benny Dixon of Vineland; Patricia Coles of Vineland; his step children, Michelle Clark of Newfield and Andria Lake of TX; three grandchildren and a host of other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, March 27th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
