Obituary of Maxine F. Roberson

            Maxine F. Roberson, 61, of Seabrook died on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Bishop McCarthy Residence in Vineland following an extended illness.

            Born in Port Norris to the late Robert Jordan and Maxine Jones, she was the wife of Alvin Roberson. Maxine had been a resident of Augusta, GA in the early 1980's before moving back to New Jersey in the early 1990's where she lived for the rest of her life.

            Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at the Woodbine Developmental Center for many years. Maxine had also worked as a babysitter and at Crystal's Restaurant while living in GA. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris. In her free time, Maxine enjoyed dancing, listening to oldies and spending time with her family, especially her cousins, Evangeline and Norma Jean, her sister in law, Kim and her best friend Vanessa Coursey.

            She is survived by; four children, Alvin Roberson, Jr. of GA, Dave Roberson of GA, Sheila Roberson and Lavert Roberson both of Upper Deerfield Twp.; three sisters, Angel Webster and her husband, Eli of Bridgeton, Dinah Jones of Philadelphia and Kenya Johnson and her husband, Stephen; five brothers, James Jones and his wife, Monique of SC, Hector Jones of Trenton, Steven Jones and his wife, Urma of Cape May, Michael Jones and his wife, Kim of Port Norris, Larry Jordan of Bridgeton and Bobby Jordan of Bridgeton; a sister in law, Jackie Jones wife of his late brother, Robert; 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Serena Roberson and two brothers, Daren Taylor and Robert Dean.

            Funeral services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2411 Memorial Avenue, Port Norris on Friday, June 15^th at 1 PM.  Friends will be received at the church from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the services.  Cremation and inurnment will follow the services at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Twp.  Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
