Obituary of Albert C. Schmidt

            Albert C. Schmidt, Sr., 80 of Bridgeton passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018.

            The son of the late Alfred Schmidt and Catherine Busnardo Schmidt, he was born in Seabrook and was the husband of Rosemarie Vitale Schmidt. Albert was a lifetime Bridgeton area resident.

            Prior to his retirement, he had been employed with the Williamette Packing Company in Deptford and the Owens Ilinois Glass Company in Bridgeton.

            He was a veteran and served his country in the United States Army.

            Albert was a member of the Norma Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking, bowling and working in the yard around his home. 

            In addition to his wife, Rosemarie, he is survived by two children, Albert “Ziggy” Schmidt, Jr. (Tracy) of Fairfield Township and Suzanne Reed (Shawn) of Deptford; a brother, Kenneth Schmidt of Greenwich; a sister, Elizabeth Fiorani of Hopewell Township, 5 grandchildren and one great-grandson.  He was predeceased by his daughter, Michele Henderson and his twin brother, Alfred Schmidt.

            Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Friday, July 6^th at 11 AM.  Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services.  Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Township.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Albert’s memory be made to the Norma Baptist Church, c/o Dewayne Green, 62 Malaga Lake Blvd., Malaga, NJ  08328.  Written condolences can be sent to the family at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com
