Obituary of Gary R. Wheaton

Gary R. Wheaton, 72, of Stow Creek Twp. died on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.

            Born in Bridgeton to the late Samuel F. Wheaton, Jr. and Hazel Ada Fisher Wheaton, he was the husband of Devon Cortelyou Wheaton. Gary had been a resident of Stow Creek Twp. for the past 43 years and prior to that had lived in Bridgeton.

            Prior to his retirement in 2003, he had been employed as an electrician at E.I. DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater. Gary had also owned and operated his own electrical business called Wheaton Electrical. He was a graduate of the Bridgeton High School Class of 1963. Gary was a member and past president of the West Cumberland Ruritan Club. In his free time, he enjoyed; scuba diving, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, traveling, boating, gardening, golfing and going out for dinner. He also loved pig roasts and crab parties.

            Besides his wife of 36 years, Devon, he is survived by his daughter, Tina M. Wheaton  (Luke Fogg); his son, Gary R. Wheaton, Jr. (Ann); his sister, Gwen Myers (Jim); two granddaughters, Victoria D. Wheaton and Isabella F. Wheaton; an aunt, Ceil Wheaton and cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel F.  Wheaton, 3^rd (Gerry)

            Memorial services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, July 28^th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Gary's memory to the West Cumberland Ruritan Club, P.O.
