Walter J. Maciolek, 76, of Fortescue died on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA following an extended illness.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Walter J. Maciolek and Eleanor Frankowski Maciolek, he was the husband of Susan Shiner Maciolek. Walter grew up in Mount Ephram and lived in Oaklyn and Cherry Hill as well. He had been a resident of Fortescue for the past 15 years.
Prior to his retirement, Walter had worked as a lineman for the former NJ Bell Telephone Co. for over 30 years. He was a member of Fortescue Chapel and served as president of the Board of Trustees. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, walking the island, and driving to the beach with his wife, Susan. Walter was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by two children, Matthew and Emily; his brothers-in-law, Mike Brown and Rick Brown; his cousins, Ray and Betty Frankson of Warminster, PA; five close friends, Thomas Navrot, Steve Capasso, Bob Young, Fred Schroth and Lou Arangio; his pastor and close friend, Fred Goos and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Maciolek.
