Obituary of Mable McCloud
Mable McCloud, 82, of Bridgeton passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, November 19, 2018.
Born in Glassboro to the late Andrew Jackson and Sarah Holden Jackson, she was a resident of Bridgeton since 1971. Mable was raised in Woodstown and had lived in Vineland briefly before settling in Bridgeton.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a switchboard operator for the former Val Mode Co. in Bridgeton. Mable had also been formerly employed at Anchor Hocking Glass Co. in Salem for many years. She was a member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton for over 40 years where she served as an usher. In her free time, Mable enjoyed reading Our Daily Bread devotionals, going to Cowtown and cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters.
She is survived by; eight children, Joan Hasty of Vineland, Lillian Allen of Brotmanville, Stanley Stevenson of NC, Geraldine Stevenson of Williamstown, Rosette Lewis of Vineland, Bonnie Taylor of Newfield, James Stevenson of Vineland and Sheila Stevenson of Newfield; a sister, Evelyn Flagg of Salem and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Irving Stevenson, Jr. and Jeffery Stevenson and nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 30 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Saturday, December 1st at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
