Well you have had another birthday, 94 years old. Hoping yesterday was special for you. I think of you every day and wish you were still with us. Life does go on, but it is so hard at times when you don't have those special people in your life to share it with. You and Mom not being here makes you (me) lost at times. But I know that there will be a time when we will all be together. Until that time comes for me, I will miss you everyday. I just hope in some way you realize how much I miss you and will love you forever.
Until we meet again, love you, Soney.

Good morning Della-------------It has been a little over 6 months since you left us and we (I) miss you so much. There's not a day that i don't think of you in one way or another. So much has happened in the world since you left and now the whole world is under a pandemic of a deathly virus. But God willing, this will pass and we will go back to some kind of normalcy. Want you to know that Diana and I talk about you often. She is fine. I also talk to Norma, Linda, Joann, Ramiro, of course, and my two cousins Mona and Barbara about you. We all miss you terribly. It's funny my boss in Ohio, Dr. Kim stays in touch with me and will mention you time to time. If you remember Veda, my supervisor when I worked for Kroger, has talked to me about you and was such a great support to me when you left. Jessie is doing fine and has a promotion and will be working in Cincinnati soon if not already. I hear from Kiona and her girls, also. Well Sunday is Mother's Day and even tho you are not hear, I just wanted to wish you a Happy Mothers Day and wish we could have a wonderful dinner together. It's funny, I can't remember what Mom would have for Mothers Day, because someone in the family would come home for Her Day. I know you are far away from me, but you are here with me in spirit and in my heart. Give Mom a big hug for me and tell her that I miss her very much as well. Don't forget to say hi to Betty, Jane, Irene, Billy, Press, Aunt Sadie, Tootsie and Tarpie for me. I miss all of you so much. Tell Billy that Ramiro said hi and that he misses him also. Well TOOTS (smiles), I am going to close for now and start work. Oh, I forgot, tell Dawson hello for me and that I hope he is keeping everyone in line. Love you with all my heart, Soney.

I posted this November 13, 2019 with The Daily Journal----------
My dear sister, Della. If only there was enough time that I could share all of my memories of her. She was always there for me no matter what. My Father said She was my second Mother, and never a more perfect description of her. The greatest gift to me from her was her love, kindness and thoughtfulness. She was my protector. Our Mother, Nellie, bestowed her love to Della, therefore, She gave it to me. During the last few months for her life, She would cry when She saw me, I'm sure those tears were happy ones because I was there. She taught me so much in regards to taking care of my home, how to dress, and of course, how to cook. One time She was having a problem with her left leg and I had the same pain. Our brother, Billy, said to Mom, 'what did you expect Mom, they are both alike'. He didn't know that was the best thing he ever said about us for me. My wonderful sister, I will NEVER forget you and You will stay in my heart forever!

Della you were the first daughter and I was the last born to a wonderful mother named Nellie . We were 22 yrs apart in age, you were like a mother to me and to all your brothers and sisters.. Rest in peace for you are with the Lord. To be in the arms of the Lord there is no better place. May your loved ones lean on the Lord at this time for strength and comfort for there is no better place than in His care. Some day we will all be with the Lord until then "Oh happy day when JESUS washed all our sins away. . Love and blessings to all. Joann.

I have so many fond memories of my godmother Aunt Della ..) I will always remember Sunday visits to Chester to visit with her and Uncle Dawson ..the smell of the fried chicken when you came through the door .. ,watching her make her homemade potato salad and always a tasty dessert prepared to share ..we would
Gather in the kitchen and watch her work her magic preparing a scrumptious meal ..the smell of percolated coffee on the stove .. then holding hands as we blessed the meal ..it was family time ..we would talk and laugh ..and share stories ..no need for cell phones and tv ..just family being with family ..her hearty laugh ..and beautiful smile ..in the later years I did not see her that often ..but I always felt her love for all of us ..we will miss you ..but i know you are reunited with all of those you loved and have passed before you ...i believe you and your sisters and brothers are all around a table laughing and teasing once again ...please give my mommy a hug and kiss for me ...Love Dawnie

When most men get married, their mother-in-law is the last person they want to see, or have come around. Della and I had a special relationship, she was like a mom to me. I loved her more than life itself. It’s so funny some people even thought we were dating, Della wouldn’t argue, LOL.. Della will be missed dearly, but I’m glad she is suffering no more, she is absent from body and present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5:8 and I know I’ll see her again. Love you Della.

I love and miss you with all my heart and soul, Nana. My world, my heart, will never be the same without you. Thank you for your love, wisdom, and guidance you've given me over the years. Please watch over me and your great grands as we go through life with out you. I can't wait for the day for us to be reunited. Kiss Aunt Betty, Irene, Jane, Sadie and Uncle Woody, Bill, and Press. And to my beloved Popop Dawson whom I did not have the pleasure of meeting, give him a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. I know he rejoiced with the angels when God called you home, all to have you along side him again. I love you Nana, forever and a day. Love, Kiona
