Obituary of Esther C. Hayes

Esther C. Hayes, 97, of Bridgeton passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at her home. Born in Winston-Salem, NC to the late James Conyers and Mattie Staple Conyers, she was the wife of the late Thomas Hayes. Esther had been a resident of Bridgeton for the past seven years and prior to that she had lived in Chicago, IL. Before her retirement, she had been employed as a food service manager with the state of Illinois in Chicago. She was a member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton, She is survived by; her step-daughter, Carolyn Saltor of CA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; two brothers, David and James; two sisters, Mattie and Evelyn and a special niece, Mattie Tiggett. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 30 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Saturday, December 28th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 8 AM to 10 AM prior to the services.
