Obituary of John C. Wesby

John C. Wesby, 61, of Vineland, died in South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland, on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012. He had been in failing health for the past year. The husband of Annie Lecator Wesby, he was born in Waynesboro, Ga. and was the son of the late Charlie Wesby and Ethel Mae Bush Wesby. He had been a resident of Vineland for 15 years and prior to that had lived in Haleyville. He was retired from Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville, where he had been employed for 42 years. He was the former pastor of the Praises of the Lord Jesus Christ Church in Millville. Besides his wife: survivors include, two daughters, Monica Wesby, Vineland and Neptina Broome, Millville; two sons, Derrick Cole, Washington, D. C. and Johnny Charles Wesby, Jr., Tampa, Fl.; four step-children, Ann Marie Roache, Sicklerville, Chrissy Lecator and Tanisha Lecator, both of Vineland and Chris Forrest, Jr., Laurel Lake; Six brothers, Eddie, Forace and Horace Wesby, all of Waynesboro, Ga., Steve Wesby, Bridgeton, Donald Wesby, Aiken, S. C. and Tirone Wesby, Athens, Ga.; six sisters, Marlene Wesby, Rose Ellison, Louise Edwards and Martha Scott, all of Waynesboro, Ga., Norzetta Weslby and Glory Wesby, both of Augusta, Ga.; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Charlie, Jr. and Roosevelt Wesby and two sisters, Eliza and Florence Wesby. Funeral services will be held in the Chestnut Assembly of God Church, 2554 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 12:00 O'clock noon. Burial will be in Fordville Memorial Park, Fairfield Township. A viewing will be held in the Church on Thursday morning between 10:00 and 12:00 O'clock, prior to the services.
