Obituary of Susanne Schmidt

Susanne Schmidt, 63, of Deerfield Twp. passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Born in Bridgeton to the late Alex Fiorani and Jean Brown Fiorani, she was the wife of Douglas Schmidt. Susanne had lived in Deerfield Twp. since the late 1980's and prior to that she had resided in Bridgeton. She had been employed as the director of financial aid at Prism Career Institute at their Egg Harbor Township location since 2006. Susanne had been previously employed by Airworks Co. in Millville and the County of Cumberland. She was a member of Deerfield United Methodist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, traveling with her family to Vermont, Williamsburg and the Outer Banks and spending time with her grandchildren. Some of the things she loved and collected were; Coach purses, LuLa Roe Leggings, Yankee Candles, Boyds Bears, Lizzie High Dolls and most recently she loved to collect snowmen. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Schmidt of Deerfield Twp.; three children, Stacey Gilchrist of Bridgeton, April Stevens of Leesburg and Natalie Schmidt of Upper Deerfield Twp.; three brothers, Richard Fiorani of Hopewell Twp., Jimmy Fiorani of Hopewell Twp. and Robby Fiorani of Bridgeton; her sister, Nadine Zimmerman of Upper Deerfield Twp.; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janine Opperman. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
