Obituary of Anna Mae Bown

Anna Mae Bown, age 93, was welcomed into the comforting arms of our Lord on Sunday, July 5, 2020, in Sanger, Texas. She was born in Camden, New Jersey on June 14, 1927 to Viola and Monroe Bennett. In her early years she attended school in Newport and then became employed at Wheaton Glass Company. She retired in 1994 after 24 years. She married Charles Matish in September of 1948. They had three children, Barbara, Charlotte, and Charles (Chuck). She enjoyed fishing, bowling, and being with her grandchildren. Anna moved to Texas in 2012 due to failing health and to be near her daughter and grandkids. She is predeceased by her daughter Barbara Miller, and survived by her daughter, Charlotte Pangburn and husband Eric of Denton, Texas, and son Charles Matish of Newport. She is also survived by three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 10, in Denton, Texas.
