Obituary of Caroline L. Ridgeway

Caroline L. Ridgeway, 77, of Bridgeton passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Born in Bridgeton to the late Steelman Peterson, Sr. and Elizabeth Betts Peterson, she was the wife of the late William Ridgeway and the late Scholer Ridgeway. Caroline had been a lifetime resident of Bridgeton. Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Value City in Vineland, as a crossing guard for the Bridgeton Public School System and at the Vineland Developmental Center. Caroline loved to play Bingo and enjoyed spending time with her children and her family. She also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. She is survived by six children, Pauline Ridgeway of Fairfield Twp., William Ridgeway, Jr., of Upper Deerfield Twp., Lisa Molina of Fairton, Michael Ridgeway of Bridgeton, Melissa Maines of Millville and Arnetta Ridgeway of Bridgeton; four siblings, Steelman Peterson, Jr. of Millville, Mary Mesing of Deerfield Twp., Marshal Peterson of Millville and Joanie Peterson of Arkansas; 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Smith. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, September 5th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 10 AM prior to the services.
