Obituary of Kenneth L. Durham

Kenneth L. “Duke” Durham, Sr., 85, of Fairfield Twp. died on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Fairton on August 12, 1935 to the late Henry R. Durham and Geneva Walford Durham, he was the husband of the late Mildred “Tootsie” DuBois Durham. Duke had been a resident of Fairfield Twp. for the past 60 years. He loved riding around in his car and spending time with his family. He served as Shop Steward at South State Contractors for 37 years and as a low boy driver. He had also been previously employed with George Slade Paving and had served with the Army National Guard. Surviving are his children, Sharon Huff of Chico, CA, Linda Hutchinson (Steve) of Fairton, Kenneth Durham, Jr. of Fairton, Henry “Rich” Durham (Eva) of Fairton, Wayne A. Durham (Vicky) of Millville and a special granddaughter that he raised, Lindy Hutchinson of Millville; his sister, Betty Christian of Fairton and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Mildred “Tootsie” Durham, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John “JR” Clehm, Elwood Durham, Doris Senec, Lorrainne Saunders and Hazel Whilden. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, September 8th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at the Old Stone Church Cemetery in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
