Obituary of Millicent H. Ashbridge

Millicent Marie Ashbridge (nee Harris), 98, of Bridgeton passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. She was born in Bridgeton, the daughter of the late Ralph Mixner and Florence Mary (nee Long) Harris. Married for 46 years, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles R. Ashbridge in 1986 and sister Ruth Duffy of CA and brothers Donald Harris of VA and Ralph Harris of Texas. She loved visits from all of her grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren. She was an avid reader of Zane Gray novels and liked word search puzzles. She loved bird watching from her home of 80 years on Townsend Avenue in Hopewell Township. In her early days she enjoyed camping, boating and needle point. She is survived by her son, Glendon C. Ashbridge of Millville and daughter, Joan L. Cozza of Upper Deerfield Township; three grandchildren, Larry J. Ashbridge, Sr. of Rosenhayn, Pamela J. Ferguson of Cedarville and Sherri L. Tyler of Culpepper, VA; seven great grandchildren, Larry, Jr. and Kevin Ashbridge, Tabitha Andrews and Nathan Harris, Roork Hitchner, Jr. and Christopher and Amanda Ashbridge and nine great-great grandchildren, Richard and Andrew Ashbridge, Kyndred Riley, Jordan, Kendall and Ava Hitchner and Eli, Zada and Scarlett Grant and nieces and nephews including Warren Adams of Greenwich. She was predeceased by a grandson, Timothy W. Ashbridge in 2019. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday, December 10th at 11:00 AM. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
