Obituary of Jose Gilberto Castro, Jr.

Jose Gilberto Castro, Jr., 27, of Bridgeton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 10, 2020. Born in Bridgeton to Jose Gilberto Castro and Milagros Tirado Escoto, he had been a resident of Bridgeton for most of his life but had briefly lived in Atlantic County. Jose had been a student and had recently enrolled for classes at Ashford University. He was also a musician and hip-hop artist who loved to freestyle. Jose also enjoyed playing pick-up basketball with his cousins and friends and playing in poker tournaments. Most of all he loved visiting with all of his family members. His family described him as a generous person with a great sense of humor and he was always joking around. His greatest loves of his life were his children. He is survived by; his mother and step father, Milagros and Jorge Escoto of Galloway; his father, Jose G. Castro of Mississippi; his two children, Angel Castro and Jecell Castro; his siblings, Cynthia Castro of Bridgeton, Milan Castro of Bridgeton and Jacel Penn of Virginia; his step sister, Maile Escoto of Galloway and his grandmother, Iris Castro of Bridgeton. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Milagros Perez. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, December 18th at 2 PM. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 2 PM prior to the services.
