Obituary of Marjorie G. York

Marjorie G. York, 99, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Glen at Willow Valley. Born in Jersey City, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. Maran and Laura May Williams Maran and was the wife of the late Samuel “Leonard” York. She had resided in Lancaster, PA since 1986 and prior to that had lived in Vincentown. Before her retirement in 1971, she had been employed with the EXXON Research and Engineering Company in Linden for 30 years. She was a graduate of the Berkeley School in East Orange. She had been active in the Lancaster Baptist Church and also the Lancaster Church of Christ and had served as pianist and organist. Mrs. York had also served as a volunteer for many years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lancaster. She is survived by her niece, Bonnie Jean Turnbull of CA, her cousins in South Jersey in the Alloway area and her remaining church family in Lancaster. Graveside services will be held at Alloway Methodist Cemetery where the interment will follow the services.
