Obituary of Leon J. Snyder

Leon “Joe” J. Snyder, 84, of Bridgeton passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at South Jersey Extended care in Bridgeton. Born in Salem to the late Harry and Anna Snyder, he was the husband of Beverly P. Sanderlin Snyder. He was a resident of Bridgeton since 2014 and prior to that he had lived in Salem. Prior to his retirement, Joe had worked for the Salem County Police department as a crossing guard for 43 years. He had also been self-employed as a landscaper for all of his working life. Joe was a member of the Christian Life Center in Pennsville. In his free time, he enjoyed playing bingo, making wreaths attending church, visiting the casinos and spending time with his family. He is survived by; his wife, Beverly P. Snyder of Bridgeton; his children, April Patterson Erb (Cameron) of Bridgeton, John Patterson (Gina) of Lower Alloways Creek, Christopher Patterson (Janet) of Quinton, Tina Peterson of Maine, John Snyder of Mesa, AZ and Michael Snyder of Salem; his sister in law, Lorraine Timmons of NC; two special nieces, Charlotte Clark and Nancy Clark; his special neighbors, Ben and Robin Mosley; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his son, Joseph Carl Snyder; his siblings, Isabelle Hogate, Margaret Sanderlin, Dorothy Biddle, Leona Biddle, Bessie Biddle, Ruthann Cuff, Jessie Biddle, Howard Biddle, Harry Biddle, Russell Biddle, Joshua Biddle and Delores Biddle. Memorial services will be held at Broadway United Methodist Church, 115 1/2 Broadway, Salem, NJ 08079 on Saturday, February 27th at 11 AM.
