Obituary of Michael S. McDermott

Michael S. McDermott, 61, of of Bridgeton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at his home. Born in Bridgeton on July 7, 1959 to the late William McDermott, Jr. and Netta Gibbons McDermott, he was the long time companion of Lynda Enright. He was a graduate of the Bridgeton High School Class of 1977. Michael was a loving father to two daughters, “his girls”. He was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. He was best known for his joking personality and pranks as well as never being in a rush. Mike had spent most of his working life as a journeyman machine operator at many local glass factories. He also loved the local turtles and would go out of his way to look out for them. He is survived by; two daughters, Miranda Lupperger (Andrew) of Lansdowne, PA and Meagan McDermott of Windermere, FL; his companion of many years, Lynda Enright; his siblings, William McDermott, III of Hopewell Twp., Sherry Earnest of Bridgteon and Kevin “Wolfie” McDermott of Bridgeton; his sister-in-law, Denise McDermott of Stow Creek Twp. and his nephews, Brian Earnest, Gary Earnest and Patrick McDermott. He was preceded in death by; his brother, Patrick McDermott; his brother-in-law, Gary Earnest and his nephew, Jonah Smith. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, May 3rd at 12 Noon. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
