Obituary of Nancy C. Frumento
Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy Catherine Frumento (Holmes), 81, formerly a resident of Friends Village, Woodstown, NJ, died peacefully on May 7 from complications of dementia after a strong fight. In her final months she was well cared for by Traditions of Cross Keys in Glassboro, NJ, and Bayada Hospice. Her husband Frank A. Frumento, Jr. predeceased her in 2012. She was the daughter of Harrison H. and Marie B. Holmes.
Originally from Woodbury NJ, Nancy met her future husband Frank at the age of 5 when they were in kindergarten together at St. Patrick's school, so the legend goes. Nancy and Frank married in 1960 and were together for 52 years. They spent most of their lives in Wilmington and Hockessin, DE and Vineland, NJ. Nancy attended Seton Hall University and majored in home economics.
Nancy never saw herself as growing old and loved everything youthful and "cool" her entire life. That clearly showed in her sense of style and love for all types of music, especially the most popular pop and classic rock. Nancy was very talented and was a trained vocalist, dancer, and musician. That passion was passed on to her children and grandchildren who are all musicians and artists in some form. For many years, Nancy was an active member of the Delaware and New Jersey chapters of the P.E.O. Sisterhood which provides educational opportunities for female students worldwide. She was also a beloved member of a local group called Movie Mavens where she enjoyed reviewing movies and many hours of fun with special friends.
Nancy leaves behind her sisters Mary Holmes and Patricia Hackett (Earl); son Mark Frumento, his wife Patrice and their children Caroline (Stephen) and Andrew; son Paul Frumento, his wife Robyn, Paul's children Victoria and Claudia, and Robyn's children Michael and Stephanie; daughter Karen Romeo, her husband Pete and their children Peter and Carina; a sweet and mischievous cat Lulu who was lovingly adopted by Caroline and Stephen; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
