Obituary of Bennie Lee Gibbs

Born in Lake Landing, NC on March 10, 1926, he was the son of the late Otis James Gibbs and Ester Clayton Gibbs. He resided in Pocomoke City, MD and then moved to Salem, NJ where he lived for most of his life.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Mannington Mills in Salem. He had also worked for Seabrook Bros. Farms in Upper Deerfield Township. He served in the United States army during WWII.
He is survived by; a daughter, Patricia Collings and her husband Curtis of Baltimore, MD; three grandsons, Curtis Collings, Jr. and his wife Aysha of Finksburg, MD, Craig Collings and his wife Samantha of Owens Mills, MD and Owens Mills, and Brock Collings of Owens Mills, MD; two sisters, Lily B. Harold and Maddie B. Braxton; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family. He was preceded in death by; two brothers, James Edward Gibbs and James Otis Gibbs; a sister, Mary Spenser and his long-time companion Myrtle Crump.
Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Lawnside Cemetery in Woodstown. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:30 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
