Obituary of Benjamin C. Pierce, Sr.

Benjamin C. Pierce, Sr., 85, of Millville passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Cooper Hospital in Camden under the care of hospice. Born in Fairfield Twp. to the late Jacob A. Coombs and the late Hester Pierce-Coker, he was the husband of Cecelia Johnson Pierce. Benjamin was a resident of Millville for the past 12 years. Prior to that, he had resided in Bridgeton for most of his life. Before retirement, Benjamin had worked in multiple positions including; sorting and as a fork lift operator, at Seabrook Bros. and Sons in Upper Deerfield Twp. for 34 years. He had previously been employed at Martin Dye and Finishing for 16 years and at Garrison's Nursery for 13 years in Seabreeze. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting. Benjamin had attended Living Manna Ministries International in Vineland. He is survived by; his wife, Cecelia Johnson Pierce of Millville; his children, Benjamin Pierce, Jr. (Marcella) of Vineland, Anthony Pierce (Viola) of Millville and Lucille Pierce of Seabrook and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his son, Kenneth Pierce, Sr. and his siblings, Robert S. Pierce, Jacob E. Pierce and Myrtle E. Pierce. Funeral Services will be held at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday July 22nd at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:30 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
