Obituary of Geraldine Rupert

Geraldine Rupert, 77, of Port Norris passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Center of Vineland. Born in Altoona, PA to the late Gerald Rupert and Irene Francio Rupert, she was the wife of Theresa Tomarchio. After graduating from high school Geraldine started employment at Owens-Illinois in the Selection department until their closing. She then worked in the Quality Control department for Durand Glass Manufacturing until her retirement. Geraldine was employed in the local glass industry for over 50 years. Geraldine was an active member of the Haleyville Senior Hall where she loved playing Bingo and Pinochle. She was also a member of Port Norris Methodist Church. Geraldine would help pack and dispense food monthly with the local Food Banks. She loved frequenting the flea markets and selling goods when she could. Geraldine was a kind and loving soul who was well liked and loved by all she encountered. She is survived by; her long time companion and wife, Theresa Tomarchio; her sisters, Marion Gilson and Karen Sheppard (Howard); her nephews, Herbert Gilson (Ada), Neil Sheppard (Jennifer) and David Young; her niece, Shelby DeJesus (Marcos) and a host of other family. She was preceded in death by; her mother and father, Irene and Gerald Rupert; her nephew, Christopher Young; her sister, Tina Young and her brother-in-law, William Young. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, August 30th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
