Obituary of Lina Schilling

Lina Schilling, 92, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Born in Fischerdorf, Ukraine to the late Eugene Metzger and Malwina Zernickel Metzger, she was the wife of the late Johannes Schilling. Lina had lived in Ukraine until 1942 when she moved to Germany. She immigrated to the United States in 1955 to Upper Deerfield Twp. where she was a resident for the rest of her life. Lina had been formerly employed at Renoc in Vineland as a seamstress and at Seabrook Farms in Upper Deerfield Twp. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting and reading true crime novels. In her younger years, Lina loved to dance especially with her favorite partner, her husband, Johannes. She was a member of Northville Lutheran Church. She is survived by; three daughters, Brigitte Bundy (David) of Pittsgrove Twp., Angelika Athey (Bill) of Pittsgrove Twp. and Claudia Rice (Wayne) of Upper Deerfield Twp.; her son, Harald Schilling (Theresa) of Vernon Hill, VA; her brother, Eugene Metzger (Angie) of Medford; her sister in law, Ida Metzger of Upper Deerfield Twp.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Johannes Schilling; her daughter, Barbara Franks; her son, Gerhard Schilling and her brother, Viktor Metzger. Memorial services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, December 23rd at 11 AM. Inurnment will take place at Northville Lutheran Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received a the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
