Obituary of David L. Hymer

Obituary David L. Hymer, 80, of Pittsgrove Twp. passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Salem to the late Herbert Hymer and MaryAnna Vanote Hymer, he was the husband of JoAnn Gannon Hymer for 60 years. He had been a resident of Pittsgrove for many years but had resided in VA during the early 90's for a period of about 11 years. Prior to his retirement, David had worked as a supervisor in the tree service industry for over 25 years, retiring from Asplundh Tree Service out of Willow Grove, PA. He was a member of Emanuel Bible Church in Keysville, VA. In his free time, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bass particularly blue grass music. He was a former member of the Strings of Gospel Blue Grass band with the late Ernie Riddle and the late Rufus Hill and several other blue grass bands throughout the years. He is survived by; his wife of 60 years, JoAnn Hymer of Pittsgrove Twp., his children, Donald Hymer (Bobbie) of Vineland, Richard Hymer of Laurel Lake, John Hymer of Laurel Lake, Lida Hymer of Woodstown and David Hymer, Jr. of Washington State; his siblings, John Hymer of Hopewell Twp., Dorothy George of Carney's Point, Herbert Hymer of Mantua and Warren Hymer of Quinton; his grandchildren, Donald, Jr. “DJ”, Samantha, Julianna, Matthew, Josh and Amy; three great-grandchildren, including David Hymer and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by; his parents, Herbert and Mary Anna Hymer. Graveside funeral services will be held at Olivet Cemetery, 933 Centerton Rd. Pittsgrove Twp. on Friday, February 18th at 11:30 AM. Friends will be received at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
