Blanche E. Davis, 89, of Vineland formerly of Bridgeton passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Spring Oak Assisted Living in Vineland. Born in Bridgeton to the late James L. Hall and Miriam E. Cornelius Hall, she had been the wife of the late Norman “Shorty” Davis Sr. Blanche was a lifelong resident of Bridgeton until she moved to Spring Oaks Assisted Living in Vineland in October of 2021. She graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1950. In July of 1950, she married her late husband, Norman “Shorty” Davis of Shiloh. Shorty and Blanche were married for 71 years until his passing in October of 2021. She had been a homemaker, cafeteria aide for the Bridgeton Public School system and a crossing guard for the city of Bridgeton. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, swimming, decorating for the holidays and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by; four children, Norman B. “Dave” Davis Jr. of Bridgeton, Stephen M. Davis of NY, Jeffrey S. Davis of New Brunswick, and Karin L. Brodzik (Michael) of Pittsgrove and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Norman B. “Shorty” Davis Sr.; two brothers; Harry Hall and James D. Hall and two sisters, Florence A. Borden and Doris Amos. A graveside service will take place on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 12 NOON at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
