Obituary of Alice J. Shelton

Alice J. Shelton, 92 of Fairfield Township, passed away on Tuesday, February 14th, 2023 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Alice was born and raised in Connellsville, PA to the late James A. Hunter and Minnie E. Herzog Hunter, and later became a resident of Cumberland County in 1948. Alice loved to cook for her family, spend time with her grandchildren and host holiday dinners. She also loved writing “Just Because” checks to her grandchildren. Alice retired from Durand Glass in Millville and prior to that she worked in the deli at Fisher’s Market in Hopewell Township. She leaves to cherish her memory her three children; Deborah Pittman of Upper Deerfield Township, Fred Shelton of Pittsgrove, and Connie Mesco (Mark) of Mullica Hill, grandchildren; Zachary Staples, Jill Cabegin, Joshua Pittman, Valerie Willis, Fred D. Shelton, Jessica Posada, Abigail Woolley, Jack, Mark, MaryAlice, Caroline, Luke and Maggie Mesco, 19 great- grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children; Janie McClintock, Jacqueline and Sandra Shelton, three brothers, five sisters, and two grandchildren; John McClintock Jr., and Laura Shelton.
