I am so saddened by Lester's death. I was not aware of his passing until the most recent Salem Co. Fair meeting. I would have wanted to be at his service. Lester was one of the first people I met in 1992 when I moved to Salem County. He was a good friend and " neighbor " for 30 years. Lester was one of the most honest, sincere, genuine individuals I have ever met. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. With his illness, I was already missing seeing that blue pickup around, when parked in the yard with the doors open in case the cats wanted to hop in for a nap, or stopping by with "Pop". From many dinners out with both Lester and. Isabelle, to dinner at their house, cook outs at ours. He attended my kid's birthday and graduation parties, and more. He LOVED to eat!! No food was ever wasted when Lester was around!! I am so sad I missed his service, as are my boys. I drive by the farm everyday and miss seeing him out and about , doing hay, with the cows, working in the shop. He was truly one of a kind and I am glad to have been able to call him my friend.

Lester was a great friend, and I will really miss seeing him. He always asked about my wife every time I saw him. He was a perfect gentleman. I am so sorry for his death. R.I.P.

I have had the privilege of knowing Lester for over 58 years we had many wonderful trips together in our younger years by plane and car, to California, Nashville, Tennessee, and Florida to name a few. Our group, spent many nights, eating pizza and fried shrimp, or anything and we could always count on Lester to finish anything we didn’t want. His smile laughter and zest for life was contagious. He will be missed and remembered fondly.

I’ve known Lester for over 30 years. Besides the many memories of family get-togethers with Lester in attendance, two of my fondest memories of him are from his visit to my home in Florida.
From my own love of the water and previous conversations I knew he liked the ocean, but I’d never heard him express so deeply, how much he loved just looking out over the water. Something he said he could do for hours. Just gazing out over the sea watching the endless motion, the ever changing scene.
On that same trip, early one morning while everyone was having coffee, we had one of our morning downpours. I took my coffee out on the front porch and sat down. Lester came out to join me and we sat and talked, enjoying the sound and smell of the rain. As the rain let up we just sat there. He seemed really peaceful after several minutes of guiet said, “this is really nice”.
I think he had an inner peace that few people saw. He will be missed.
My deepest sympathy to all his siblings and his entire family.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He had a sharp wit and a kind smile. We used to joke about
who got a bigger dose of "that Wible gene." He baled crooked windrows with mounds on the end
without complaint.
Rest in Peace cousin, no one deserves it more.

Lester had a great heart and even greater personality. He and his dad used to deliver hay and were such fun. Loved to just stop by to visit and pick on him for his crooked hat and ratty jacket. Great picture of his "devilish" grin. Will be missed by many.

We are so saddened to hear of Lester’s passing. We got hay from him for well over 20 years and was more than just our hay farmer, he was a friend. He watched our children grow up and always made sure to ask how they were doing. We will miss his spunky personality and seeing him at the fair each year. May he rest in peace and have a joyous reunion with Isabel.
