Obituary of Raymond Kevin Maddox

Raymond Kevin Maddox was born on November 27, 1961 in Port Norris, New Jersey. He was the son of Brenda Maddox-Murry of Millville and William Cade (Marlene) of South Carolina. Raymond attended Port Norris Elementary School and Millville High School where he received a high school diploma in 1981. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (Vineland) under Pastor James Allen Dunkins. Raymond was an active member of Celebrate Recovery and he enjoyed singing on the Community Men’s Choir. Raymond was a true servant of the Lord. He enjoyed evangelizing, handing out tracts, giving words of encouragement and was well known for sending early morning scriptures in the family group chat. Raymond was known to family members and friends as Ray Ray from childhood until adulthood when he then asked that he be called Ray or Raymond. Always smiling, Raymond had a good heart. He loved and took great care of his mother. He loved and had a close relationship with his father and son. Raymond loved his family and friends. Raymond is preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Maddox; two lovely granddaughters, Alleyah JJ McIntyre and Amani Maddox; and one uncle Lowell (Chuckie) Maddox. Raymond is survived by his mother, Brenda Maddox Murry of Millville; his father, William Cade (Marlene) of South Carolina; one Son Kevin Maddox of Millville; one granddaughter, Ava Marie Maddox of Millville; aunts, Rosie Spencer of Georgia, Joyce Nutt of Vineland, Irene Maddox—Elsherif of Millville, Doretha and uncle John Maddox of Port Norris, and aunt Ollie Mae Maddox of Millville; a host of special paternal aunts and uncles and special cousins.
