Obituary of Phyllis S. Wright

Phyllis S. Wright, 78, of Woodbury, NJ passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Inspira Medical Center in Mullica Hill. Phyllis was born in Camden, NJ, to the late Llewlleyn Samuels and Elizabeth Cannon Samuels. She resided in Woodbury for the past eight years and prior to that she resided in Glassboro. Phyllis was most recently employed at the Christmas Tree Shop in Deptford, NJ. Prior to that she also worked at JC Penny's in the Deptford Mall, Ford in Philadelphia, the VA hospital in Philadelphia, and as a Quarter Master in Philadelphia. She loved to go the Harrah's casino in Chester, shopping, and traveling to see her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Ronda Wright of Brooklyn, NY; her special son/nephew, Cary Henry; four grandchildren, Chris Wright of NY, William Slack, Jimmy Slack (Wadeedah), and Courtney Slack all of GA; three great-grandchildren, Jimmy Jr., Chris Jr., and Israel; five siblings, Carol Kidd (Jerry) of Gibbstown, George Samuels of Gibbstown, Lillian Cooper (Charlie) of Swedesboro, Marguerite Verlander (John) of Glassboro, and Allison Samuels of Paulsboro; step mother, Katherine Samuels; sister in-law, Cellie Samuels, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Llewlleyn Samuels, and Elizabeth Samuels; brother, Robert Samuels; and lifetime companion of over 30 years, Morell Moore.
