Obituary of Judith F. Loper

Judith F. Loper, 79, of Fortescue passed away surrounded by her family and friends at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late William Fowler and Margaret Schuster Fowler, she was the wife of Ronald J. Loper. Judy had been a resident of Fortescue since 1965 and prior to that she had resided in Gloucester City. Prior to her retirement in December 2005, Judy had served as the Postmaster of the Fortescue Post Office for 38 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fortescue Fire Company, the National Association of Postmasters, the Gloucester County Ladies Fire Auxiliary and she was a life member of the New Jersey State Ladies Fire Auxiliary. In her free time, Judy loved to travel, going to yard sales, collecting teapots, reading, spending time with everyone's children, getting her nails done and going out to dinner. Judy especially enjoyed Sundays spent at the pool with her sister. Her love of traveling saw her attend 57 cruises during her life time. She is survived by; her husband, Ronald J. Loper of Fortescue; her sister, Denise Ablett of Gloucester City, her nieces and nephews, John Ablett IV, Shannon Ablett and Donal McCombs; her family-in-love, Denise Chew (Doug), Clifford Higbee Jr. (Hillary), Michelle Higbee Sheppard (TJ), Gabrielle Higbee Horseman (Kevin) and Mansoor and Saima Salahuddin; her two beloved cats, Shadow and Licorice and many other friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by; her parents, William and Margaret Fowler. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, August 18th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
