Andrew O. Chin Jr. transitioned on September 16, 2023. He was born on July 17,
1950 to Andrew O. Sr. and Juanita M. Chin. He was one of five children born of
this union.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He attended Glassboro State College and earned an Bachelor's degree in Art. Afterwards, he taught in Port Norris and Haleyville, NJ school system. He was also employed at post offices in New Jersey and Los Angeles, California.
Andrew was a wonderful artist and he earned many awards for his paintings. In his younger, years he was a member of a band "The Viceroys" where he was a singer and he also played the flute. He also enjoyed fishing and cooking.
Andrew, also known as "Bubby", married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Beachaump. Their love for each other endured until his passing. They were married for 37 years.
Andrew was a faithful member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Port Norris, NJ.
He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew O. Sr. and Juanita M. Chin and his sister, Angelia Chin.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Chin, his sons, Quincy Damor Chin and Cliton Beachaump; his siblings, David (Sandora) Chin of Vineland, NJ, Ellen Chin of Columbus, OH, Melvina Chin Jersey City, NJ, and a special cousin, Vendetta Smith of Port Norris, NJ, six grandsons and one granddaughter. His aunts, Ernestine Camper of Port Norris, NJ, Tammy (Donald) Williams of West Chester, PA Verona Camper of Millville, N, Nicole Gibbs of Millville, NJ, and uncles, Patrick (Betty) Camper of Port Norris,NJ and Harold Camper of Millville, NJ. His mother-in- law, Maggie M. Beachaump of Port Norris, NJ and a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Roxanne Beachaump of Neptune, NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
We will always have precious memories of his comical ways and how he made us laugh. However, his absence also brings sadness to our hearts.
Funeral services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2411 Memorial Ave, Port Norris, NJ on Saturday, September 30th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services Written condolences can be sent to the family through the funeral home website at www.padgettfuneralhomes.com.
