Obituary of Wendell B. Busby

Wendell Bob Busby ( affectionately known as Kolleft) was born November 24, 1961 to the late Joe Lewis Busby and Evelyn (Robinson) Busby. He was born in Coosawhatchie, South Carolina. Wendell passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Camden Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ. Kolleft as he was affectionately known and called attended Oak Crest High School in Mayslanding, NJ. Later in life he obtained his GED. Kolleft started his work career at Dale’s Fashions in Vineland, NJ. He also had spent years working odd jobs through Manpower. In 2000 he started working at Rudco Products Inc. in Vineland, NJ. Then in 2010 he started his career at Leone’s Industries in Bridgeton, NJ where he was last employed.
Kolleft enjoyed grilling, boxing, fishing, building things, skating, and working on his pick up truck. Kolleft would help out in the community as a coach for the local baseball and football teams. But one of his biggest joys was spending time with his grandchildren. Each grandchild will have those special memories including their nicknames given by their loving “pop pop”. Kolleft was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and looked forward to watching them play every week. In his passing he was able to help others live on as he was an organ donor.
Kolleft is survived by his long time companion Carla Street, 7 children Kerona Busby of Vineland, Caryeen Hughes of Bridgeton, Kollisha Busby of Georgia, Shayla Butler of Philadelphia, Ian Busby of Millville, Kyle Busby of Bridgeton, and Antonisha Busby of Delaware. A total of 12 grandchildren and 2 God children Dontae Waters of Gouldtown and Shanya Johnson of Vineland, 6 siblings Betty Robinson – Mack ( Benjamin) of South Carolina, Emma Busby of New Jersey, Faye Fuller ( Frank) of New Jersey, Marvin Busby of New Jersey, Leo Busby ( Stephanie) of New Jersey, and Tonja Knight ( Tony ) of Maryland. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, cousins, and friends. Kolleft is predeceased by his brother Gerald Busby ( Valerie) and sister RosaLea Busby, also his parents Joe Lewis Busby and Evelyn (Robinson) Busby.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 NOON on Wednesday, October 18th at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 NOON prior to the services. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp.
