Obituary of Brenda Loys Dawson

Brenda Loys Dawson, 80, of Upper Deerfield Twp., passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Brenda was born and raised in Bridgeton to the late Allen Gibson Shirley and Loys Lambert Shirley. Brenda met the love of her life, Richard Lee Dawson when she was 13 years old and they got married in 1964. The love that they had for each other was something that they couldn't explain. Brenda had been a resident of Upper Deerfield for the past 55 years. She retired after working for LoBiondo Brother's for many years in the accounting department. Prior to that, she was an office manager for S&H Kress. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family especially her nieces and nephews whom she adored. She loved to go out with her friends from Wildwood and go out to eat with them. She also enjoyed bird watching and feeding the hummingbirds throughout the year. She took pride in her garden where she grew flowers, vegetables and her strawberries. Brenda will be remembered for her God given gift of being a caregiver because she loved to help others whenever she could. She is survived by; her husband, Richard Lee Dawson; sister-in-law, Alisia Bender; nieces, Samantha Lynn Dawson, Stephanie Lee Dawson, Brandi Bender, and Sissy Bender; nephews, Joe Bender, Kevin Dougherty, and Michael Bender. She was preceded in death by; her parents, Allen and Loys Shirley; her sister, Betty Jane Parent; and her nephew Wade Dougherty Jr. A graveside service will be held at the Laurel Lawn Cemetery, 170 Old Deerfield Pike, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, October, 27, 2023 at 2PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12:30PM to 1:30PM prior to the services. Interment will take place following the service.
