Obituary of Angel Luis Cruz

Angel Luis Cruz, age 88, passed away peacefully at Inspira Hospital Vineland, NJ. on December 14, 2023. Angel was born in Utuado Puerto Rico December 20, 1934 to parents, Jose and Josefina Cruz. He moved from Puerto Rico to Brooklyn New York in 1953. He worked at Esquire Barbershop in Long Island, New York as a barber for 15 years and L&M Security Company for 5 years in New York City. He later moved to Trenton, New Jersey around 1978 and worked for Nassau Inn Hotel in Princeton, New Jersey for 25 years until retirement. Angel loved the Lord and was a faithful Catholic, member of Diocese of Trenton, NJ. St. Mary’s Cathedral in Trenton, NJ. After moving to Vineland, NJ, Angel became an active member of Divine Mercy Parish in Vineland, New Jersey. He loved serving as an Usher and was an active member of the Holy Name Society, member of the Catholic Cursillo, member of the School of Leadership, State Ultreya for the Diocese of Patterson, Metuchen, Newark, and Trenton, New Jersey. He was always ready to help anyone in need and served for over 30 years. He also donated his talent of cutting hair to anyone in need and he proudly gave haircuts to Priests and Bishops. Angel was predeceased by his parents Jose and Josefina Cruz and brother, Sosimo Cruz. He leaves behind his wife, Virginia Cruz of 60 years, Hopewell, Twp., a son, Angelo L. Cruz, Jr., Vineland, NJ and a daughter, Maribel Santos (Cruz) husband Arnaldo A. Santos of Hopewell, Twp., NJ. Brothers: Alfredo Cruz wife Rose Cruz, Miguel A. Cruz wife Patricia Cruz, Sosimo Cruz (deceased) Luis G. Cruz wife Carmen Cruz. Sisters: Laura Cruz(Cubano) deceased husband Ignacio Cubano, Luz E. Cruz(Perez) deceased husband Raymond Perez, Gladys Cruz, Adela Cruz(Guzman) husband Enrique Guzman. Grandchildren: Anjelica M. Santos(Profitt) husband Jeffrey E. Profitt, Jr., Arnaldo A. Santos, Jr., and Lynbrooke Santos. He also left behind many nieces and nephews and cousins who he loved very much. The family would like to acknowledge a special Brother-in-law, Noberto Torres and his Sister-in-law, Luz E. Torres, who have always gone above and beyond for Angel and Virginia. We consider them our “Guardian Angels”. Viewing will be on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 9:00am-11:00am at Divine Mercy Parish 23 W. Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360 (Funeral Mass immediately following). Burial will be held at Saint Marys Cemetery, in Rosenhayn, New Jersey, 08352 to say goodbye to our beloved father, Pop-pop, and friend.
