Obituary of Gwendolyn A. Perkins

Gwendolyn A. Perkins, 78 of Port Norris passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at her home. Born in Millville, she was the daughter of the late Augustus Perkins and Gwendolyn Bryan Perkins Holland and was a lifetime Port Norris resident. Prior to her retirement, Gwen had been employed as a Teacher’s Aide and Special Education Assistant at the Port Norris and Haleyville Elementary Schools for over 50 years. She was a longtime member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris. Gwen loved socializing and having visitors come to her home along with shopping and dining out. She is survived by her sons, Milton L. Perkins of Vineland, Anthony Beachaump of PA and Rodney Beachaump of Port Norris; a sister, Beulah Clinton of NY and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Miriam Youmans and two brothers, Augustus Perkins, Jr. and Collins Clinton. Funeral services will be held at the Chestnut Assembly of God, 2554 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland on Saturday, December 30th at 11:00 AM. A visitation will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Township. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
