Obituary of Susan Jane Reed

Susan Jane Reed, 72, of Bridgeton, NJ, passed away on January 24, 2024. She was born on December 24,1951 in Bridgeton, NJ, to the late Katherine L Chiari and Desidary J Chiari. Susan was a loving mother, friend, sister, and all-around good person. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Susan attended Bridgeton High School for her primary education. Throughout her career, she worked at BW Stetson, South Jersey Hospital (cafeteria), Carpenter Warehouse, Golden Nugget, Bally's Grand, and Harrah's Casino. In her free time, Susan enjoyed going to bingo, playing cards, and watching her favorite TV shows. She also loved going out to eat and going on vacations. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Susan is survived by; the love of her life, Wilbert (Sam) Barr; her loving sister, Theresa (Terri) Gilman of Upper Deerfield; her daughters, Tina Reed of Upper Deerfield, Tania Reed of Buena, and Shannon Sloboda (Mark) of Upper Deerfield. She is also survived by; her sons, Richard Reed (Michelle) of Millville, Andrew Reed (Michelle) of Deerfield, Joseph Reed(Stephanie) of Hurricane, WV, and William Reed (Crystal) of Bridgeton. She also leaves behind stepchildren, Tammy Barr of Vineland and James Barr (Alyson) of Millville. Additionally, Susan leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; her sister, Ruth A Chiari, and brothers, Robert R Chiari, Jerry D Chiari, and Joseph A Chiari. Susan was also predeceased by; her sister-in-law, Patricia Chiari, brother-in-law, Raymond Gilman; stepchildren, Sammy Barr and Timmy Barr. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery following the service.
