Obituary of Linda J. Vest

Linda J. Vest, 68, of Lower Alloways Creek Twp. passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Inspira Hospital in Vineland following an extended illness. Born in Bridgeton to the late Linwood W. Mitchell and Anna J. Maclean Mitchell, she was the wife of James E. Vest. Prior to her retirement she had worked at Seabrook House as a recovery coach and had worked at Cumberland Mutual Insurance Company for many years. Linda was a member of the Tri-County Lighthouse Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. In her free time, she enjoyed socializing with her friends, watching General Hospital with her husband, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was bird watching, as she enjoyed watching them every morning. Linda also enjoyed writing and had written poems and children's literature over the years. She is survived by; her husband of 14 years, James E. Vest of Lower Alloways Creek Twp.; her children, Stephanie Spinelli (her caregiver) of Lower Alloways Creek Twp., Thomas Moore (Franci) of WV, Cathleen Shaw (David) of NJ, James Vest Jr. (Jamie) of NJ, Kristin Chestnut (Kevin) of NJ, and Ashley Vest of NJ; her brothers, Robert Campbell, Tommy Campbell, and Wayne Mitchell; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Linwood and Anna Mitchell and her siblings, Cindy Mitchell and Freddy Mitchell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16th at 1 PM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Hwy 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 NOON to 1 PM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park, 794 Shiloh Pike, Hopewell Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's memory can be sent to the Tri-County Lighthouse Baptist Church, 149 Deerfield Dr., Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
